i feel as though i've blinked

and summer is nearly over... how the H.E double hockey sticks did that happen?

at least i only have 5 weeks of crazy work season left... then it's my turn to relax...

can't wait for that!

little eden marie

little eden is growing like a bad weed, 8 months old already!! we sure love hanging out with her...

sweet as pie.

we heart- red sand, seaweed and the island way..

pei vacation!! we miss the island so much and it is always a treat to visit. it has been awhile since our last visit so we tried to pack in lots while still keeping things relaxed.. in the end, we managed well.

*be warned - i took a million beach photos.. and posted pretty much all of them..

our friends pete and jen came with us, the kids love them... we had lotsof fun!

victoria by the sea... our favorite place.. we stay at the victoria village inn, the chocolate factory, landmark cafe and loads of great people all on the same block.... drinks at sunset on the beach and coffee in the morning... lovely.

pei is different for us now, although it will always feel like home... ella was born here, dave and i met here.. lots of history, wonderful memories and good people...

we sure do miss that island way...

cottage days..

sunny days at the cottage are like heaven. no wonder m&d want to spend every possible minute there... can you blame them?

just as we were all about to lose our minds...

the sun came out for a visit- and on my birthday to boot.

this year i was lucky enough to celebrate with my wonderful family on the water, in the sun..

it seems the rain and the cat have a lot in common after all..

girls rule

we were meant to be in pei this weekend, but after daddy flew to b.c. for a last minute trip to visit family.. we have had lots of great girlie time...

baby eden had her first sleepover of what i can assume will be many more to follow. she is such a little star, happy, sweet and a dream to babysit. the girls sure loved having her around. hard to believe she is six months old all ready.

we also took in a little culture this weekend, at a local festival. I only got a few photos but here are the girls getting their faces painted..

we sure miss daddy, but a little girlie time is always welcome.

closing chapters, opening new ones.

so this week marks the end of kindergarten, it's hard to believe. it has been a milestone of a year for ella and she has enjoyed it all....

but now it's onto summer.

Lucy is growing up so fast - she is handful and a half - but our little ball of light!! This week also marks a milestone for her - it's her first full week without diapers - day or night!! I am proud to say- there is not a diaper to be found in the house. it was a long process but she did it.

she is so proud, i wouldn't be able to get a diaper on her now if i tried!!

i make no promises as i dip my toe back in, not the best track record as they say...

but something is better then nothing i suppose.

little lucy turns two... jan 13th

the day finally came for lucy - her big birthday!! she had been anticipating her turn to celebrate a day all about her since the birthday whirlwind began back in November. After witnessing her sister, her dad, both of her cousins, her papa and her nana all have the joy of birthday cake, presents and hearing everyone sing the wonderful happy birthday song in their honour - it was her turn. And let me tell you - she loved every last minute of it!!

lucy is a BIG fan of dinosaur's.. always with the dinosaur's.

she wanted a dinosaur's cake - so a dinosaur's cake she got!

she as sweet as the day is long. we are loving her witty sense of humour... but behold the fire inside...the fire that we recognize well!! - and wouldn't change for the world..

on her real birthday we took the girls out for chinese and home for some more yummmy cake and a few more presents..

christmas time....

we had a great christmas this year.. both girls were super excited which made the whole thing so much fun!! we decided to have a sleepover and mom and dads on christmas eve and we were treated to dad's famous eggs benni in the morning. santa found us and everyone was spoiled rotten. christmas is always a time full of emotion and with all the feelings of joy come some feelings of sadness - sadness for those who are no longer with us, we know these feelings will never go away - nor would we want them to.. we hang on to the memories as we create new ones. thanks to everyone we love ... you are our heart and soul!
